Eligibility Requirements:
English proficiency: You must demonstrate reading, writing, and speaking skills at Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 8 (or equivalent fluent‐intermediate level) and be familiar with Canadian systems.
Successful completion of the Interpreting in Community Settings: A Foundational Program, or a comparable training program required.
This course is best suited for those who have lived in Canada for at least two years and have some prior experience as an interpreter in any setting.
Second-language proficiency: The course is delivered in English, but you will practice interpreting into your other working language. While we won’t formally test your language skills, you should have intermediate to advanced proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking any language in which you intend to work as an interpreter.
All instructors and mentors are bilingual or multilingual, covering more than 10 languages, and our extended network of coaches supports over 30 languages. This ensures you receive guidance and feedback tailored to your linguistic needs.
